Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to your complimentary bed and breakfast hotel. Complimentary city tour is prepared for you. Visit elephant’s orphanage, giraffe center and Bomas of Kenya.
DAY 2: Board tarakea bound shuttle for border crossover and check in at snow cap cottages. Dinner, briefing and overnight.
DAY 3 : walk to Nalemoru gate for registration (1950m). Start hiking to first camp/Simba camp (2600m). Overnight in tents. Habitat montane forest.
DAY 4: Hike from first camp to third caves. Overnight in tents. Habitat is Alpine desert.
DAY 5: Hike from third cave to Kibo hut (4730m) overnight in tents. Habitat is Alpine desert.
DAY 6: Hike from Kibo hut to summit Uhuru peak (5895m) then descend to Horombo (3705m). Habitat is stone scree and ice capped summit distance 5.4km up and 15km descend.
DAY 7: Descend from Horombo to Marangu gate (1860m) habitat Montane forest distance 19.7km. Get your certificate and transfer to a hotel in Moshi (book this hotel on your own).
DAY 8: Transfer for departure or join a safari in Arusha.
